Advice grounded in operating reality
Business owners deserve advice from someone who has actually run a company — not just modeled one. We start from how the business really works.
About the firm
The Mooresville Group was built on a simple idea: business owners deserve advice from someone who has actually operated a company under pressure — and who is willing to help execute, not just recommend.
Our philosophy
Business owners deserve advice from someone who has actually run a company — not just modeled one. We start from how the business really works.
The issues that matter most rarely sit inside one department. They cross operations, finance, people, and strategy — which is exactly where they get stuck.
Profitability, cash flow, transferability, enterprise value, and the owner's freedom matter as much as the top line. We keep all of them in view.
The best advisors know when to lead, when to challenge, when to coordinate, and when to bring in a licensed professional. We are comfortable in every one of those roles.
The questions owners care about most are the ones they can't discuss openly. We protect that trust completely.
A plan that doesn't move is just a document. We measure ourselves by what actually gets executed.
The founder
Roger Johnson spent fourteen years owning and running a manufacturing and distribution business in Statesville. He bought the company while it was losing money, returned it to profitability within a year, acquired and integrated a competitor, and built a contract metal fabrication line from idle machine capacity. He sold the business in 2023.
Before that, Roger spent fourteen years in professional motorsports, including eight as a car chief in the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series — an environment where deadlines do not move, problems must be solved quickly, and results are visible to everyone.
Today, he works alongside owners facing many of the same challenges he experienced firsthand: growth that has outpaced the systems, an owner carrying too much of the operation, and important improvements that never quite make it to the top of the list.
Roger founded The Mooresville Group to give those owners a practical operating partner — someone who understands that a company is more than a financial model. It is a team, a reputation, and a livelihood.
